Faruk Miaji was nominated by the BNP for the post of mayor in the Shahrasti municipality election

The party nomination of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) for the post of mayor, 3 upazila parishad chairmen and 1 union parishad has been finalized in 30 municipalities to be held on 26 February.

In this, the names of the mayoral candidates of Matlab and Shahrasti municipal councils of Chandpur district were finalized. Faruk Hossain Miaji was nominated by Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) in the municipal elections in Shahrasti. The information was given in a press release signed by BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Saturday.

Prominent businessman and general BNP general secretary Md. Faruk Hossain Miaji, son of late Hossain Ahmed Miaji of Nizmehar village in ward 7 of Shahrashti municipality, has been known as an honest, efficient and dedicated worker of Chhatra Dal since his student life. He was the acting general secretary of Meher Degree College Chhatra Dal in 1996-97 and later the office secretary of Upazila Chhatra Dal.

Professionally Farooq Hossain Miaji is a successful businessman. He has several businesses including contractors, construction firms and brick kilns. As a result of his active leadership in the politics of the area, his organizational activities have become the trust, love, confidence and trust of the party leaders and workers. He has already been jailed for about 4 months in a political case.

He said in his election manifesto, "If elected, I will try to develop a modern municipal market, cemetery, crematorium, and market for the financial development of the municipality." I will build an aesthetic municipality through modern waste management. I will build a municipal city free from drugs, eve-teasing and child marriage. I will provide adequate playgrounds to keep the youth free from drugs and online addiction. In the interest of public safety, populated areas will be brought under CCTV cameras, he said.
