Jewel of Juba League is hoping for a boat symbol for the post of mayor in Shahrashti

Candidates have started running in the upcoming Shahrashti municipality election! Their respective candidates are campaigning with activists and supporters. They are promoting themselves on social media including festoons, banners, leaflets.

At the end of this year, the election of the expired municipality will start in December, in that election all the municipalities of Chandpur will be in the election.

With the election looming, the election campaign has also started in Shahrashti Municipality. Ahsan Manjurul Jewel, convener of Juba League in Shahrashti Upazila, started his election campaign through milad and prayers after Friday prayers today (September 11). He is hoping to be nominated by Awami League.

Ahsan Manjurul Islam Jewel is the youngest son of late Najibul Haque Chowdhury of Noagaon village in Shahrashti Municipality. He has been doing politics following the ideology of Awami League and Sheikh Mujibur Rahman since his student life. He has a master's degree in political science and is a successful businessman.

In political life, he was the organizing secretary of Meher Dakshin Union Chhatra League in 1989, senior vice-president of Chhatra League of Comilla Victoria University College in 1991, member of Sherpur Government College Chhatra League in 1995, member of Shahrasti Upazila Juba League in 2004, senior joint convener of Upazila Juba League in 2012 and now. Shahrashti Upazila is acting as the convener of Juba League.

According to special sources, he is participating in the elections with the promise of digitizing Shahrashti Municipality in collaboration with the leader of the masses of Shahrashti-Hajiganj, Major (Retd) Rafiqul Islam Biruttam MP.
