Arrival in Bangladesha
RastiShah was one of the 12 preachers of Islam who came to this country in 1351 during the reign of Sultan Feroz Shah of Delhi and Subedar Fakhruddin Mubarak Shah of Bengal. He first came to Yemen in 638 BS for the purpose of propagating the religion, from there he later came to this country; Many consider him to be of Yemeni descent as he came to this country from Yemen. One of his companions when he came to this country was his younger brother Shah Mahbub. Syed Ahmed Tanvi, one of the companions of Rasti Shah, also came to this country in 1351.

Shrine
The shrine of Hazrat Rasti Shah (Rah.) Is located in Sreepur village under Shahrashti upazila of Chandpur district.
Adjacent to the shrine is a very ancient three-domed mosque. Three hundred and fifty years after the death of Rasti Shah, it was built by Kazi Golam Rasul on the orders of Pari Bibi Bibi, daughter of Subedar Shaista Khan. Which his descendants have been caring for in Sreepur for generations. The British East India Company provided a grant (allowance) of Rs. 210 per annum for the maintenance of the shrine; However, when a dispute arose between Hasti Medkaf, DM (District Magistrate) of Comilla, and Golam Raza, the successor of Rasti Shah, it was settled, and if it was later resolved, his descendants would receive an annual allowance of Rs.
The annual conference (Urs) is held here on the last Thursday of the month of Magh every year; So that a lot of people from home and abroad gather.
